We do this by disrupting the traditional residential real estate market, providing fully furnished and artfully designed apartments for stays starting at one month. We remove all the hassle around finding a rental with no long-term contracts, moving/buying furniture, security deposits, broker fees, etc. giving choice and flexibility to allow people to live where and when they want. 💥

Role |

Ukio is seeking a Freelance Interior Designer to create beautiful and thoughtful designs for our apartments. Design is at the core of Ukio’s brand and your mission will be to ensure our apartments reflect the highest standards of quality and aesthetics. Depending on the project, this role may involve different levels of responsibility:

• You will oversee the entire project lifecycle, from design to execution. This includes everything from conceptualizing the design, sourcing materials, managing furniture installation, and ensuring the apartment meets Ukio’s aesthetic and operational standards, ultimately making the space 100% ready for our guests.
• Depending on Ukio needs we can ask only for the Design Phase or Execution Phase separately. Even work for other markets in the Design Phase if needed.

This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual with strong organizational and creative skills. As a freelancer, you’ll enjoy autonomy over your projects while facing new challenges and opportunities as part of a dynamic and fast-paced startup environment.

Responsibilities |

Design phase

• Conduct measurements and take photos of the apartment- Barcelona only.
• Develop creative and innovative design concepts for apartments, ensuring they align with Ukio’s brand and aesthetic standards.
• Select furniture and materials ensuring quality standards
• Manage design budgets and timelines for each apartment. Our timelines are very tight so we need someone to be able to work under pressure.
• Prepare detailed design files for print and production
• Work cross functionally with the teams involved for efficient onboarding process
• Ensure each apartment meets Ukio’s quality standards and is fully functional for guest use.
  

Execution phase

• Manage the project execution in alignment with designer specifications.
• Track all furniture deliveries and coordinate with the logistic team for smooth receipt and delivery.
• Manage the return and replacement processes related to furniture.
• Coordinate the installation and tracking of electronic locks, or arrange key copies when locks are not feasible.
• Supervise the installation of furniture, appliances, and large equipment during the execution phase.
• Coordinate with handymen and ensure timely completion of tasks with proper materials and transport.
• Manage staging and oversee photoshoots to ensure apartments meet aesthetic standards.
• Compile inventory and ensure all checklists are completed to confirm apartments are guest-ready.

About you |

• Minimum 2 years as interior designer in hospitality or residential services.
• Background in interior design
• Proficiency in design software (SketchUp, AutoCAD)
• Intermediate Excel skills are required.
• Highly organized, energetic, and creative
• Excellent communication skills - Spanish and English
• Ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
