Job Overview:

As a Cloud Engineer at Neo4j, you will be responsible for providing expert guidance to non-Engineering teams, enabling them to harness the full potential of cloud services from AWS, GCP, and Azure. You will focus on securing and managing cloud environments comprehensively, ensuring robustness, scalability, and cost efficiency. This role involves troubleshooting individual issues, designing solutions based on business requirements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve their goals. This role resides within IT and will work across every part of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Cloud Architecture and Design:

  • Collaborate with non-Engineering teams to understand business requirements and design scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions.
  • Ensure cloud architectures align with best practices on AWS, GCP, and Azure.

Security and Compliance:

  • Implement and enforce security best practices for cloud environments.
  • Work closely with the security team to conduct regular audits, assessments, and ensure compliance with industry standards such as SOC2, HIPAA.
  • Stay informed about the latest security threats and vulnerabilities, implementing proactive measures to safeguard cloud environments.

Cost Management:

  • Optimize and manage cloud costs through effective resource utilization and cost monitoring.
  • Provide recommendations on cost-effective solutions and identify opportunities for savings.
  • Identify and remediate orphaned projects and infrastructure.
  • Develop and implement cost allocation strategies to ensure transparency and accountability across cloud resources.

Troubleshooting and Support:

  • Respond to and resolve cloud-related incidents and issues promptly.
  • Collaborate within IT to increase cloud support capacity and share technical knowledge.
  • Establish and maintain robust monitoring and alerting systems for proactive issue identification and resolution.

Documentation and Training:

  • Create comprehensive documentation for cloud architectures, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Provide training and support to non-Engineering teams to enhance their cloud proficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or greater) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer with in-depth knowledge of at least two of; AWS, GCP, and Azure.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security best practices and compliance standards.
  • Experience in designing and implementing cost-effective solutions in cloud environments.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and resolving cloud-related issues.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Cloud certifications from AWS, GCP, and Azure.
  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools including Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Scripting and automation skills (e.g., Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell,).
