We're looking for a Working Student to join our Infrastructure Platform Engineering team as Technical Product Manager with the goal to join us as full-time/permanent employee after graduation.
Our Platform Engineering team is enabling our different product engineering teams to iterate fast by providing AWS Infrastructure based services, Observability (DataDog), Core R&D Tools and Services, Security and Compliance, DeveloperExperience as well as Data Infrastructure and Data Intelligence.
In this role, you will report to our experienced Product Management Lead Platform Engineering and have the opportunity to learn from her as well as our TPM GenAI/DevX to grow as a TPM.
You will collaborate closely with the TL Infrastructure Engineering (link) and individual engineers on a variety of platform engineering topics ranging from AWS cloud infrastructure and stack evolution, operations, automation, security, contract and cost management etc.
Moving forward when joining us later in a full-time role - you will also support PMs and teams in the area of Data Infrastructure&Intelligence as well as Developer Experience&Tooling.

🎯 How you can contribute to HeyJobs

Support a wide range of operational initiatives such as:
Automate, maintain, and improve our AWS-based infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines using Terraform and other modern DevOps and Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
Monitoring and alerting efforts using tools like Datadog, CloudWatch, and Sentry
Evaluating new tools as well as improving documentation and adoption of existing ones
Support resolution of security initiatives and incidents including post mortems
Daily/Weekly/Monthly/Quarterly operational tasks (upgrades, reviews, access etc.)
Support running team rituals like planning, stakeholder managements, time alignments and quarterly roadmaps
Supporting security and compliance efforts (e.g. ISO27001, EU AI Act etc.)
Help manage vendors and partners including cost & contract management
Help foster a strong DevOps and Platform Engineering culture through documentation, knowledge sharing, and small coaching moments with peers
🤝 What sets you up for success
Actively enrolled at a Berlin university in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, ideally graduating in late 2025 or early 2026, with interest in transitioning to a full-time role. Available to work 3–4 days a week during studies and motivated by a long-term collaboration.
Passionate about learning new technologies and eager to grow across all areas of platform engineering - from AWS infrastructure, observability, and tooling to developer experience, data platforms, and governance (cost, IAM, security, compliance) - while building simple, effective solutions.
Keen to develop into a Technical Product Manager for Platform Engineering/AWS, with a proactive mindset, strong problem solving skills, and a fast learning curve.
Experience with cloud providers (preferably AWS), some software development or coding background, and familiarity with Agile workflows and tools like Jira, Confluence, and GitHub.
Strong communication skills in English, with a clear, structured style and a collaborative mindset - enjoying the exchange of ideas and learning from others.
Bonus:
Prior working experience as Technical Product Manager or Software/Infrastructure Engineer
Experience with Docker and exposure to IaC tools like Terraform or CloudFormation - bonus points for running containers on ECS or troubleshooting container issues, or using IaC tools in personal or academic projects.
*We welcome Software Engineering students interested in transitioning to Technical Product Management, with some prior knowledge or experience in TPM activities.
